Dangerous Women Go to Church
March 18, 2018
My March calendar has two reading events coming up this week.On Tuesday, I'll be a featured reader at Paul Richmond's Third Tuesday open mic event, 9 Mill Street in Greenfield. Doors open at 7:00, open mic reading begins at 7:15 (this is a new time to accommodate more readers), followed by featured readers.
On Sunday, we'll be doing excerpts from Most Dangerous Women at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Greenfield to celebrate Women's History Month. 10:30-11:30 a.m. Several songs and monologues from the play step us through 100 years of history. Daphne Bye and the All Souls Choir, with featured singer Kirsten Levitt and guests Annie Hassett and Nina Gross will do three musical pieces, and there are five more songs for the congregation to sing. Some of the historical figures whose words will comprise the readings are Jane Addams, Jeannette M. Rankin, Coretta Scott King, Helen Caldicott, Wangari Maathai, and Berta Caceres Flores.
